Do you ever have the feeling when talking to someone about
something they need that they are procrastinating about it? It can always go
the opposite way as well; do you ever talk to a salesperson and get the feeling
that they do not know what they are talking about in their own industry? This
is called procrastination for the person looking side and the other side would
be the problem of not being trained in the correct manner. Time and time again
I see that certain sales people seem to lose their customer service attitude
overtime. This is always something that we need to keep in check and up to
date, so we can give our clients the upmost respect and professionalism that
they deserve. This goes into products and services, for all of those sales
people that try to place a product that the client does not have a particular
need for or a service that does not fit their needs either. I find this to be
unethical upon that professional, only if they know talking about or have been
trained in all of the products. If a person has not been properly trained in
all the products so they are aware of their options that they can offer. By
knowing this can they be at fault for offering the incorrect product for the
long run if they are unaware of the other options? I for one do not believe
they should be at fault due to the training curriculum being incorrect or not
finished. Do not take this as an excuse to offer the wrong product or service
to your client though. Neglect of a client’s needs is not something you should
never do, it is your job as a professional to make sure that your client is
taken care of at all times. Think about it like this, if you mess up and do not
take care of your clients’ needs then obviously you are not ready to have a
client of that standard and deserve to lose them. So, take it upon yourselves
as an employee, as a supervisor, or as the owner that it is all of our jobs
make sure that our clients are cared for at all times. It is all of our
responsibility to keep our training current as well in all of the states and
areas that we practice in. My consultants that I am in charge of with their
training, look to me on a daily basis to increase and enrich their careers. I
take this role very seriously, if they are guided correctly morally and
ethically I can make sure that the prospects that they come in contact with
will see the professionalism that they bring to the industry. This will not
only effect the branding and outlook that the market has upon our company but
will also increase our consultants book of business as well. This is not just the
finance industry but is any industry out there from real estate to education at
the end of the day make sure you do what is right not only for yourself but for
our future leaders and producers in our industries. Now for all of the people
that cannot make up their mind if after numerous times and chased down people
that offered something that they wanted but when it comes to actually writing
the deal in paper to start it they are afraid of commitment and they ghost.
What do I mean by ghost? I mean that person will not answer your phone calls
like you are an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend. You see them at the store they will
hide from you, this is the time that you need to step back and let them know
that you are you are not going to chase them down but you are there to help
them with their needs, that they asked you about. It is always humorous to me
when I see this happen. Yes, it deals with my pay but obviously I would not be
in this industry if it bothered me that much for me to take it to heart. But
remember you approached this person about the product or service for a reason.
Remember the reason you have, find a professional that will help you shop for
the best rate and the best product, last but never least make your end goal
known. For everyone that is in my industry or in sales at all, you are probably
saying to yourself man this guy wants an easy and hand fed sale. I will answer
you yes, I love it when my clients get what they are wanting in the end and
they are happy with the process. So, if this means it is hand fed then get my
fork ready because I am ready to eat. Both sides of the end game should be
happy with the business done and should know that the business relationship
they have with that person is going to be long and fruitful. For all of the
professionals in every industry from a professional stand point you need to
keep your tact and your professionalism. You are there to help your clients
make the best decision possible for them and their families. So, take a deep
breath, sometimes the road can be bumpy at times but know that in the end that
client is going to be happy with what you were able to help them with and they
will not feel bad the next day and in the future because of it. For all you
product seekers out there, don't be afraid of commitment most of us don't bite
and we are there to help you. This is great to know for both parties in the
spectrum, so take these words to heart and let’s do business together! How can
we be of service?
